Ecology and Evolution of Infection and Disease Journal Club

Weekly meeting to discuss topical papers about ecology and evolution of infectious diseases, drawn from both new and older literature. The topics could include:

  • Pathogen/parasite and/or host evolution, immunity, virulence
  • Pathogen/parasite transmission, behavioral manipulation
  • Community level interactions impacting pathogens/diseases
  • Spatial disease ecology
  • Epizootiology/epiphytology, population genetics
  • Emerging diseases
  • Impact of climate change, extinction/extirpation on pathogens/parasites/diseases

Attendance and participation are open to anyone who is interested. The EEID Journal Club will be led by Megan Greischar, and will meet in 2123 Comstock Hall on Thursdays from 9:05 – 9:55am. Cornell students may enroll for credit under course number ENTOM 6900 or BioEE 6900 (flyer below).
