Ecology and Evolution of Infectious Diseases (EEID) Journal Club

Britny Johnson will present the preprint, “Complex interactions in the life cycle of a simple parasite shape the evolution of virulence.” Weekly meeting to discuss topical papers about ecology and evolution of infectious diseases, drawn from both new and older literature. The topics could include:

• Pathogen/parasite and/or host evolution, immunity, virulence
• Pathogen/parasite transmission, behavioral manipulation
• Community level interactions impacting pathogens/diseases
• Spatial disease ecology
• Epizootiology/epiphytology, population genetics
• Emerging diseases
• Impact of climate change, extinction/extirpation on pathogens/parasites/diseases
