This week, Louie Gold will present, “SARS-CoV-2 virulence evolution: Avirulence theory, immunity and trade-offs.” Weekly meeting to discuss topical papers about ecology and evolution of infectious diseases, drawn from both new and older literature. The topics could include:
- Pathogen/parasite and/or host evolution, immunity, virulence
- Pathogen/parasite transmission, behavioral manipulation
- Community level interactions impacting pathogens/diseases
- Spatial disease ecology
- Epizootiology/epiphytology, population genetics
- Emerging diseases
- Impact of climate change, extinction/extirpation on pathogens/parasites/diseases
