Insect Pathology Short Course registration now open!

The Insect Pathology Short Course will be held on the campus of Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, June 9-13, 2025, with an opening mixer on Sunday evening, June 8. The course will summarize the infectious diseases of insects including bacteria, fungi, nematodes, protists, and viruses. The morphological, biological and pathological features of these pathogens will be discussed as well as their use and potential for use in biological control/IPM programs and mitigation in beneficial insects. Each pathogen group will be covered in a lecture format using handouts and PowerPoint presentations. Participants will learn diagnostic techniques for each pathogen group in hands-on laboratory sessions using live material (hosts and pathogens), and archived material (slides). We will also cover microbial control, epizootiology, and diseases of beneficial insects. The course is intended for students at the graduate level and researchers at any level who are interested in learning about insect pathogens.

The course registration fee is $550 for university students ($575 after May 1) and $650 for non-students including post-doctoral researchers ($675 after May 1).
Course enrollment is limited to 25.
Accommodations will be available through campus housing at a daily rate of $79 per person single, $59 per person double. Alternative options for lodging in local hotels are also available, although these are generally a little further from campus and may cost $200-$250 per night. Details for securing accommodation will be communicated to accepted participants.
